La Solitudine
I don’t even know if she still
thinks of me Once she got onboard that unforgiving train I imagine that she whiled away the time Through the cold
gray morning and the city rain Thinking of somebody else who’ll run to her Who’ll ask her did you miss
me, maybe now and then Laughing she’ll say well he met this funny boy But just a summer thing she won’t
see him again
Oh God I hope I’m wrong But I’m not feeling very strong I’ve been so up and
down, so sad So happy, feeling good and bad
I’m young, I’m old, I laugh, I cry I tell the truth
but that’s a lie I’ve been so in and out, so wild So well behaved, so pure defiled Oh solitudine,
that word I hate to say
And no I was not crazy to do what we did I even wish I’d been a bit more crazy still
And kept a little more of her to see me through She loved me all she could I never had my fill
And then I’m
back inside my room she knows so well I feel again the way she moved I take it slow I talk to her and she becomes
a part of me And then I know she’ll never let the summer go
Oh God I hope I’m right I won’t
give in without a fight And I can take the words they throw at me For none of I could know That we had something
very few Will ever find their whole life through
I wouldn’t change a single day Although the price I
have to pay is solitudine The loneliness, is tearing me apart It tears me up, it pulls me down I know It wraps
around my heart, oh solitudine

Jamie Stevens was one of the THE FIRST independent male pop artists to
sell his music worldwide through the internet. A long time before music platforms such as Napster and Kazaa became famous,
he had already started to market his music through the world wide web.
His official website, JamieStevens.com, went
online in 1997, even a long time before most major superstars like Mariah Carey, Madonna or George Michael did.
In
the year 2000 he even became one of the most legally downloaded artists on the internet with more than 25,000 downloads
per month (and a total of 300,000 downloads in the year 2000 only). While record companies such as Sony, BMG or Polydor
filed a lawsuit against Napster and other file sharing platforms, Jamie even encouraged people to download his music legally
off the internet. He became a Top10 artist on MP3.com (which was the most popular music platform in the years 2000 and 2001)
and offered his music on various other legal platforms.
Jamie started to write and record his first demo songs in
1995. He recorded about 20 songs that year and sent them to different record labels and producers in Germany. Two of those
songs, "Let Yourself Go" and "I Believe In You" would later end up on his critically acclaimed
debut album.
His demo tapes prompted some instant reactions in the music business and he received various offers.
During that time Jamie got in touch with the German producer duo Klarmann/Weber (who had already scored a
US No 1 hit with Chaka Khan and who had also worked with LaToya Jackson, Lory Bonnie
Bianco, Melanie Thornton / La Bouche or Tracie Spencer).
During the following
years he did various TV shows and live performances in Germany. Jamie performed together with various international acts such
as Blümchen, DJ Quicksilver, or DownLow. He even performed on an open
air festival in front of 8,000 people in his own hometown together with Justin Timberlake (with
his band 'N Sync).
The road to Jamie's first CD release was long and complicated: many different
projects did not work out eventually. In 1997 he was offered to join a new boygroup but he declined the offer. In 1999 he
planned to record the duet single "I'd Rather Go Blind" with US Hollywood actress Brigitte Nielsen but the
project never came to life due to disagreements between Jamie and the publishers of the song (although Nielsen had already
agreed to do the duet and many German record labels were interested)
So Jamie decided to go his own way instead and
released his first CD single "Only love (will make you wise)" the same year. The CD was sold through the
internet and became an instant MP3.com No 1 hit. It proved that Jamie had discovered a whole new way of marketing his music.
In 1999 most artists weren't familiar with the internet yet, let alone did they sell and distribute their music online.
Jamie
was so excited and overwhelmed by this success that he immediately started to work on his first album. Still without a record
deal, he decided to release the album on his own and sell it through the internet as well. In the next couple of months Jamie
teamed up with different songwriters from Sweden, New York, Canada, Switzerland, L.A. and Germany. The CD single "I
Wanna Get 2 Know U" followed in the year 2000.
Jamie's debut album "The Wizard's Call" was
finally released in May 2001. He organized a huge promotion campaign to spread the word about his new CD, including various
radio and magazine interviews. Jamie cracked the MP3.com Pop Charts with four different songs. More than 25,000 people
downloaded his songs in one month only (November 2001). His cover version of LFO's "Girl On TV" became another
MP3.com No. 1 hit (No. 4 on the overall worldwide Pop Charts - July 2001).
Shortly after the release of his debut album,
Jamie already started working on his sophomore album "Unbreakable." The album was released in November 2002
and included 15 brand new songs. Again he collaborated with songwriters and producers from all around the world. Many songs
were offered as a free and legal MP3 download on different music platforms, such as MP3.com, BeSonic, MP3 Australia and SoundClick.
He became one of the Top 20 most downloaded artists on AudioSurge that year (together with artists such as Madonna
or Britney Spears). Also, the album went Top 10 on the Outvoice Charts, which is a hit list for openly gay
artists.
His song "Back Off," which was written by Jamie himself and one of Canada's finest songwriters,
Rodney Ronquillo, stayed on the German Hit Maker radio charts for nearly one year!
The big news followed in April
2003: Jamie announced that he would take a break from the music business for the next few years. For the
first time in 8 years he decided not to perform nor record any new songs.
In 2003 he focused on a different project,
namely producing his own music trivia PC game, called "Pop Minds," which was released in Germany, Switzerland
and Austria in October 2003. The CD ROM received raving reviews from the German press.
One year after Jamie's retreat
from the music business, both of his albums had been sold out completely. His production company finally decided to release
a compilation album that included his most successful hits, plus remixes and previously unreleased songs. The album "Everyday's
Another Chance (The Best of 1997 - 2004)," became an instant Outvoice Charts Top 5 album and is
still available.
Jamie celebrated his 10-year anniversary in show business in 2005. Although he still
had no intention to return to the music business back then. He only made a short guest appearance when he agreed to contribute
one song to the charity album "Voyces United for UNHCR". Together with other artists he sang for the the
Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), which protects and supports refugees at the request
of a government or the United Nations and assists in their return or resettlement. Jamie believed in this cause and so he
contributed the song "Voice Of The Heart."
In the meantime, almost 5 years have passed since Jamie's
latest studio album, "Unbreakable," was released in late 2002. Jamie plans to return into the music business in 2008
with his first "adult contemporary" album.

- He was one of one of THE FIRST independent male pop artists to sell his music online
- and has been leading the way for many other independent artists ever since then.
- His website went online in 1997.
Ever since then his life has been an exciting
rollercoaster: - he's done TV shows and live performances all over the place - he even performed live with Justin Timberlake! -
he was a No.1 artist on MP3.com, BeSonic and other music platforms - more than 100,000 people have downloaded his music
off the internet - his first CD-single was released in 1999 - he has released 2 successful albums that both sold-out
very quickly
"Everyday's Another Chance" is his new album that contains a best-of collection
- from his first two albums plus 7 previously unreleased tracks!
PRODUCT INFO
- EVERYDAY'S ANOTHER CHANCE (The best of 1997 - 2004) ****************************************************
Now
an Outvoice Charts TOP 5 album!
"EVERYDAY'S ANOTHER CHANCE" has already been sold-out twice since its release
- in March 2004
- . The enormous demand began with "IF I COULD LOVE YOU FOREVER," the first single
- off the album.
"EVERYDAY'S ANOTHER CHANCE (The best of 1997 - 2004)" is a collection
- packed with Jamie's
- greateat hits from the last seven years. The album contains new versions and remixes
- of his most popular hits,
- plus new and previously unreleased songs - a celebration of his life's work.
Jamie Stevens
creates an ongoing theme with the conceptual "Everyday's Another Chance."
-
- This theme is about being positive and following your dreams.
He certainly knows
how to construct an album. Positioning himself between 80's
- pop-music, R&B,
- dance and DISCO, he delivers a wide range of styles. "I would hate myself if you listened
- to my album and you couldn't tell where one song ends and the next one starts," Jamie
says.
Jamie's album is just as diverse as his persona. "Battlefield" is a Motown-influenced
tune
- that allows him to sings with the passion and confidence of a man who's seen a lot of
life
- . "If I Could Love You Forever"
- is Cher-ish Euro-pop at its best, while "Voice Of The Heart" or "Can't Hurry The Harvest"
- are unforgettable soul ballads.
And still every cut of the 16 songs (+ 1 hidden track!) is a gem because the album is
- somewhat a "Greatest Hits"-compilation, only that it does not just re-release the old
- tracks but features new versions and remixes of the songs that have turned Jamie into
- one of the internet's most successful and most popular male singers.
With his trusty
collaborator Rodney Ronquillo from Canada in tow, he has co-written most
- of the songs.
-
- The team has been working on several songs throughout the last three years and has
- now produced a brand new song, especially for this new album: "The Ones Without A Voice"
- is a song about animal rights.
- The song isn't whiny nor is it bashing non-vegetarians, it is simply a statement of reality.
"When you are a singer and sonwriter, you have many options what you will sing
about,
- " Jamie explains. "And you're in the position to influence people. Because they listen to
- your songs.
- They listen to what you have to say. You can either take that power or not. I've chosen
- to use it in a positive way."
And Jamie's fans appreciate him for singing music with a message! So many other artists
- who have the power to move people choose to do nothing.
For this album Jamie
worked together with songwriters and producers from
- Germany, Canada, England, New York, L.A., and Sweden.
